Hi Everyone! I am so glad that you have found your way to my recipes page, and hope you have enjoyed browsing it.  Whilst you are here I would like to inform you  know that my recipes are based on Mediterranean diet and living, but not limited to it. 

I am born and bred in Istanbul and then have  lived in London, Hong Kong and New York.  All these experiences influenced my palate and taste for good food.  Whilst and I am very much influenced by Turkish cuisine my approach is very international and I enjoy any dish that is delicious, made with good ingredients ( that is good for you) and practical. I endeavor  to add my modern day twist, and  make the dishes healthier and more practical for modern living whilst preserving the essential elements and flavours, where possible.

When I am creating a new recipe  I aim for sugar reduction, inclusion of healthy fats and reduction of saturated fats.  My favourite ingredients are pulse/legumes such as chickpeas and lentils.  I am obsessed , in a healthy way, having oily fish twice a week to optimised my omega-3 fatty acids.

In terms of phytonutrients, anti-oxidant compounds that give plants their characteristic colour  I like a very colourful plate and try to consume all the with all the six colour in the phytonutrients list on one day. It is really not that hard and can be done with a little bit of adnaved meal planning and shopping. It is called “Eating the Rainbow” and you can find more about it in one of my blogs.
